Start Time

Will depend on the best time to shoot in natural light on the date of your shoot. This typically revolves around the following:

  • “Golden Hour” — The period that lasts shortly after sunrise and before sunset

    • Not limited to 1-hour

    • Morning shoots are ideal — as we are not racing against the sun’s clock to maintain adequate lighting

  • Daylight hours under partly to mostly cloudy skies

    • Shooting mid-day under partly to mostly cloudy skies — can provide variable striations in the sky that often lead to some truly remarkable photos.

Mother Nature

  • Wind

    • Flying dress photoshoots require much patience — as we navigate the delicate balance between unpredictable lighting patterns and wind fluctuations throughout the shoot

  • Ground Conditions

    • To ensure proper fit, flyability and image quality throughout the shoot — flying dress photoshoots require completely dry grounds. The dresses I provide are made of high quality fabric designed for optimal flyability. If the trains get wet or absorb mud - the dress won’t fly well, if at all. With that in mind — while your shoot day may be a perfectly beautiful day — if it rained the day before, a reschedule will likely be necessary.
